The thermal pools of Băile Felix

The Apollo pool and the President Hotel are both around four hundred metres from our gate. You walk there with a towel in your bag, without hunting for a parking space and without paying for one.
Băile Felix is the largest thermal resort in Romania and it is open all year: the water comes out of the ground at over 40 degrees, so the outdoor pools run in January too, steaming. The water is recommended for rheumatism, spine conditions and post-traumatic recovery, and the resort has treatment centres with medical supervision.
If you are coming with children, that is the whole argument: the pools in the morning, lunch in our gazebo, the pools again in the afternoon, without anyone getting into a car.
